DMCA Notice & Takedown Policy for DomiNations At DomiNations, we celebrate creativity, history, and strategic thinking. Our game and community thrive on original content—from world-building assets and audio design to player-created guides, replays, and fan content. As such, we take the protection of intellectual property seriously, both ours and yours. This DMCA Notice & Takedown Policy describes how copyright holders can report suspected infringements on the DomiNations website or related platforms, in compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). 1. Our Approach to Copyright DomiNations includes a blend of historically inspired content and original designs, including unique illustrations, 3D models, animations, music, UI, and gameplay mechanics. These elements are protected under international copyright law. Likewise, we recognize that players, artists, and community members may also share original content that deserves protection. Whether you're an external rights holder or a community creator, your intellectual property rights matter. 2. Filing a DMCA Notice If you believe that your copyrighted work is being used without permission on the DomiNations website or associated platforms (forums, community pages, etc.), you can submit a takedown request. Your notice must contain the following: A description of the copyrighted material you claim has been infringed. A detailed location of the infringing material (specific URL, screenshot, or content ID). Your legal name, email address, and a phone number we can reach you at. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is unauthorized. A statement that the information provided is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf. Your physical or electronic signature. 3. Our Takedown Procedure After receiving a valid DMCA notice: We will promptly review the submission. If the claim is substantiated, we will remove or disable access to the content in question. We will notify the user who uploaded the material and give them the opportunity to file a counter-notice if they believe the claim was made in error. Our goal is not only to comply with copyright law but to resolve disputes fairly and respectfully. 4. Submitting a Counter-Notice If you believe content was removed in error, you have the right to challenge the takedown. A proper counter-notice must include: A clear identification of the content that was removed and its prior location. A statement that, under penalty of perjury, you believe the content was wrongly removed or misidentified. Your full name, address, and agreement to the jurisdiction of an appropriate legal authority. A commitment to accept service of legal process from the complainant. Your physical or electronic signature. If the original complainant does not pursue legal action within the statutory timeframe, we may restore the content. 5. Repeat Infringement Policy Users who repeatedly post infringing content or who abuse DMCA processes may have their accounts limited or terminated. We reserve the right to act against repeat offenders in order to maintain the integrity of the DomiNations community. 6. Historical and Fan Content: Know the Line We encourage fans to create inspired content—whether it's battle walkthroughs, guides, historical analysis, or creative art based on gameplay. However, users should not replicate or redistribute official game assets, promotional materials, or lore content without permission. Respect for creators goes both ways. If you're unsure whether your content qualifies as fair use or requires licensing, please contact us for clarification before publishing.
